Reaching Home Funding Available – Brandon Designated, Indigenous, and Rural & Remote Streams
The Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (BNRC) plays an instrumental role in supporting the development of solutions to homelessness in the community. The BNRC entered into agreements with Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities Canada (HICC) to act as the Community Entity (CE) in rural Manitoba to administer the Brandon Designated, Rural and Remote Homelessness and Indigenous Homelessness funding streams from April 1, 2019 until March 31, 2028.
The BNRC is opening a Call for Proposals that will run from November 17th, 2025 to January 16th, 2026. The amount of funding available per stream for this CFP is as follows:
| April 2026 – March 2027 | April 2027 – March 2028 | Total |
Brandon Designated Stream | $982,000 | $982,000 | $1,964,000 |
Rural and Remote Stream | $1,610,000 | $1,610,000 | $3,220,000 |
Indigenous Stream | $3,250,000 | $3,250,000 | $6,500,000 |
- Brandon Designated funding can be used for projects that take place within the city of Brandon.
- Rural and Remote funding can be used throughout the province of Manitoba excluding in the cities of Brandon, Thompson, and Winnipeg
- Indigenous funding can be used for projects delivered primarily by Indigenous organizations to address the specific needs of the off-reserve homeless Indigenous population and can take place across the province, excluding the city of Winnipeg or on reserve.
Eligible activities and expenses must meet the Reaching Home priorities:
- Provision of housing and support services.
- Homelessness prevention and shelter diversion.
- Client support services.
- Capital investments.
- Coordination of Resources of Data Quality Improvement.
The full directives and Eligible Activities can be found here.
Please review all information prior to applying. Files can also be found in this Google Drive.
- Information Package.
- Main Application for organizations that do not currently have an agreement with the BNRC or who have an agreement with a start date prior to April 1, 2024.

- Capital Proposal Form (required in addition to application for capital proposals).

It is important that homeless serving organizations applying for this funding work collaboratively within their community to provide a collective response to the homelessness crisis. Reaching Home funds cannot be used to duplicate services, or fund services that are under Provincial jurisdiction. Applicants for funding must demonstrate that the proposed project meets a need in the community and has broad community support. Cost-matching by community partners is encouraged. In addition, projects selected for funding must not create a dependence on, or expectation for, ongoing funding.
