Reaching Home Coordinator
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Reaching Home (RH) Rural & Remote Coordinator is responsible for administering the Reaching Home program as outlined in the signed funding agreement with Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities Canada, under the federal government.
SCOPE
Under the direction of the Reaching Home Manager, the RH Rural & Remote Coordinator is responsible for receiving and administering funding under the federal Reaching Home strategy, as administered by the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation. The Program Coordinator will provide analysis of funding proposals, complete recommendation reports, complete funding agreements, and monitor projects and payments as detailed in legal agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Post-Secondary education in related field.
• Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Zoom.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a volunteer Board, funding recipients, community partners and coworkers.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working in the non-profit sector.
• Strong understanding of homelessness issues and community development strategies.
• Proven track record of managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance.
• Valid Manitoba Driver’s License.
RENUMERATION
The RH Rural & Remote Coordinator is a project-based position contingent on ongoing funding. The current wage for this position is $29 – $32 per hour for up to 37.5 hours, depending on qualifications and experience.
WORK LOCATION
This position is based on-site at the BNRC Main Office (440 Rosser Avenue) and will require occasional travel to project locations throughout rural and remote areas of Manitoba, as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work collaboratively with the Reaching Home Manager, Executive Director of BNRC, Reaching Home Program Staff, and key stakeholders to address homelessness in Manitoba.
• Receive and review funding proposals.
• Provide evaluation, analysis, and recommendation on funding proposals.
• Develop legal agreements with proponents.
• Confirm other sources of project funding and partnership where appropriate.
• Receive and review project progress reports.
• Negotiate project amendments and provide recommendations to RH Program Manager.
• Undertake site visits as needed to confirm project progress and compliance of proponent with the legal agreement.
• Attend public announcements where necessary.
• Establish and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
• Provide updates to the Reaching Home Manager on community issues, concerns, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align Reaching Home funding with community needs and priorities.
• Participate in conferences and training opportunities and share innovative learning with funding recipients and RH Advisory Boards
• Complete annual work plans.
• Complete a monthly activity report for the BNRC Executive Director/BNRC Board and Homelessness Advisory Board.
• Provide guidance and support to organizations seeking Reaching Home funds, including application assistance and capacity-building resources.
• Ensure that all funded projects comply with federal, provincial, and organizational regulations.
• Identify and manage risks associated with funding, including financial risks, operational risks, and compliance risks.
• Implement data collection procedures in Rural & Remote communities to create a picture of what homelessness looks like in those areas.

HIFIS Coordinated Access Specialist
BNRC is expanding our HIFIS program!
We are hiring for a HIFIS Coordinated Access Specialist!
Overview:
The BNRC HIFIS Coordinated Access Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of the Coordinated Access System in Brandon and surrounding rural areas of Manitoba. The HIFIS Coordinated Access Specialist will ensure that the By Name List is updated regularly and will work with HIFIS Partner Agencies and community stakeholders to streamline the prioritization, triage, and housing process.
Qualities:
Willing to travel and meet with agencies in rural Manitoba.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
Able to work autonomously.
Self-motivated.
Detail-oriented.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Able to problem solve and navigate systems effectively.

Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in social services or equivalent life experience.
Experience with PHIA considered an asset.
Experience working in the homeless services sector or with vulnerable populations is an asset.
Exercises discretion, empathy, and maintains confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively as a team and independently, with knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity, particularly Indigenous culture.
A dependable team member with the capacity to learn quickly.
Duties:
Lead the Coordinated Access weekly meetings and participates within an evidence-based, Housing First philosophy.
Develop and provide ongoing support to the Coordinated Access system in Brandon, including the maintenance of the Brandon By Name List.
Develop and provide ongoing support to the Coordinated Access system in rural Manitoba including the creation and maintenance of cluster-specific By Name Lists.
Streamline Coordinated Access prioritization and housing process in all clusters.
Create and maintain housing inventory resource list for Brandon and rural areas
Generate reports to support various steps within the Coordinated Access system, e.g. prioritization, assessment scores, resource capacity, etc.
Missing person coordination with community stakeholders.
Create and maintain Coordinated Access System Map for all clusters.
Develop relationships with community mobilization coordinators in Brandon and rural Manitoba.
Remuneration:
The current wage for the HIFIS Coordinated Access Specialist is $28 – $32 per hour up to 37.5 hours, depending on qualifications and experience.

Housing Support Worker Ask Auntie Case Manager
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Housing Support Worker and Ask Auntie Case Manager role is a joint position between
the Brandon Friendship Centre and Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation that
provides information to those seeking help in rent supplement and will also support tenants
with information on tenant landlord rights as well as identifies and supports clients facing
complex and/or multiple barriers putting them at risk of experiencing homelessness.
This position is for a seven month term, ending March 31, 2026.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housing Support Worker provides client-centered support to individuals and families
experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This role involves working with clients to secure and
maintain stable housing, build independent living skills, and connect with relevant community
services. The position requires compassion, problem-solving abilities, and a strong
understanding of housing systems and social supports.
Case Manager duties include:
Identifying clients need and assisting in creating, implementing, documenting,
and adjusting client centered action and service plans.
Educating clients on and assisting them to navigating community resources.
Providing supportive counselling, crisis intervention, and mentoring.
Empowering client to foster agency and self-sufficiency in categories such as life
skills, goal setting, and decision making.
Advocating for client’s best interests with other organizations.
Documenting and recording for statistical data collection.
Assisting clients in scheduling and attending appointments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Post-secondary education in Sociology, Social Work, Indigenous Issues and/or Activism
or a related field; and
Experience working in social services or related field
Experience with writing funding applications
Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Preference will be given to those with lived experiences of Indigeneity and/or precarious
housing.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry must be attained.

Advocate on behalf of clients with landlords, housing providers, and government
agencies.
Conduct housing and risk assessments and develop individualized support plans in
collaboration with clients.
Support clients to develop life skills such as budgeting, cleaning, and household
maintenance.
Connect clients with health, legal, employment, and community services.
Maintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation in accordance with
organizational policies and privacy standards.
Monitor and review support plans and housing outcomes regularly.
Respond to housing crises, including risk of eviction or homelessness, and implement
intervention strategies.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training and professional
development

REMUNERATION:
This position is a term position and will be paid at $23/hour for 37.5 hours of work per week
