OUR PARTNERS
Welcoming week 2024
Welcoming Week (September 9 – 13, for Brandon) is an annual campaign and celebration to showcase the movement of communities striving to be more welcoming places for all, including immigrants. This is the first year that Brandon Local Immigration Partnership will have a full week of events to showcase how Brandon is determined to be a welcoming place with involvement from multisector organizations in our community. This event aims to complement other direct services by creating a space to provide information and ways for newcomers to connect with resources and the general public to ensure their successful integration.
Let us all be a Welcomer! Join us next week and let’s all reaffirm that Brandon is a Welcoming Community!
Full Calendar of Events can also be viewed on our social media platforms.
Immigrant Advisory Table
The IAT is composed of immigrants and newcomers with lived experience, which provide insight and feedback to understand root-cause issues and promote broad community engagement through networks. IAT development consists of two phases: Broad representation in phase one (leaders from existing multicultural groups), and phase two will develop sub-tables to ensure all voices are included.
